BCS Intermediate - Software Testing

This course leads to the BCS Intermediate Certificate in Software Testing examination (which is completed at the end of the course) and provides test analysts and test managers with highly practical knowledge and techniques. 

This is a three or four day course with a combination of lectures, workshops, exercises and sample exam questions. Emphasis is placed on the practical application of the material discussed. Delegates will leave with testing skills and techniques which can be applied in the workplace.

It is suitable for software testing practitioners with 18 months experience who already hold the ISEB/ISTQB Foundation Certificate and who wish to develop their skills to a higher level.

This may include those who are engaged in any aspect of software testing including test analysts, test engineers, test consultants, test managers, user acceptance testers and software developers.

This course was previously known as the ISEB Intermediate Certificate in Software Testing.

The course will prepare delegates to sit the BCS Intermediate Certificate in Software Testing.

Pre-Requisites

Delegates should hold the ISEB/ISTQB Foundation Certificate in Software Testing and it is recommended that they have at least 18 months experience in software testing.

Exams & Certification

BCS Intermediate Certificate in Software Testing.

The exam is normally taken as part of the course on the final day. The exact format varies according to provider so view specific course outlines to clarify which applies.

The examination will test candidates' ability to apply testing principles to practical settings.  To verify that candidates have made the transition in thinking from problem solving at Foundation level to that required at Practitioner level, the Intermediate examination uses scenario based questions structured in multiple choice format.

The time allowed is 1 hour, and the pass mark is 60%.

A thorough knowledge of the Foundation Syllabus is essential. Delegates are strongly recommended to revise the Software Testing Foundation materials before attending this course.
