PRINCE2 Update: Please be aware that Axelos have recently updated PRINCE2. This is the latest in a series of updates since the launch of PRINCE2 and will be known as the ‘2017 version’.
We will have training courses covering the 2017 version available from mid-July, however this will be operated in parallel with the existing version until the end of the year. Any courses following the 2017 syllabus will be clearly marked in the details.

 

This is a combined course that enables you to achieve both the PRINCE2 Foundation and PRINCE2 Practitioner certifications. It is a 5 day course inclusive of both exams. PRINCE2 (PRojects IN Controlled Environments) is a process-based approach to project management providing a scalable method that can be easily tailored. It has become a de-facto standard for project management in the UK, but is also widely used in Australia and Europe. It is used by some of the largest organisations worldwide, making knowledge of the PRINCE2 approach a useful addition to any project managers’ CV as well as a great starting point for those new to the profession.

Learning Objectives

At Foundation level, demonstrate that they understand and can recall the various components of the PRINCE2 method

At Practitioner level, demonstrate that they can apply and tailor the PRINCE2 method to a real project

  • Explain and apply the PRINCE2 principles
  • Explain the purpose of the seven PRINCE2 themes and describe how they are applied to a project
  • Describe each step of the PRINCE2 journey, explaining the activities required to guide a project throughout its lifecycle
  • Create the recommended PRINCE2 management products which include baselines, records and reports

Pre-Requisites

No previous knowledge of PRINCE2 is necessary.
It is helpful to have experience of working in a project environment.

In order to sit the PRINCE2 Practitioner examination you must provide proof of having passed one of the following:

  • PRINCE2 Foundation
  • Project Management Professional (PMP)
  • Certified Associate in Project Management (CAPM)
  • IPMA Level A® (Certified Projects Director)
  • IPMA Level B® (Certified Senior Project Manager)
  • IPMA Level C® (Certified Project Manager)
  • IPMA Level D® (Certified Project Management Associate)

Delegates are introduced to the world of projects and project management and to the overall structure of the PRINCE2 method. The benefits of adopting a formal project management method will also be outlined.

PRINCE2 operates with a universal set of principles that can be applied to every project. These seven principles provide the framework of good practice upon which PRINCE2 is based.

Accreditation

Exams & Certification

PRINCE2 Foundation Examination

Key exam information:

  • One hour long
  • Closed book
  • 60 multiple-choice questions
  • 60% pass mark

PRINCE2 Practitioner Examination

Key exam information:

  • 150 minutes long
  • Open book
  • 75 scenario-based questions
  • 55% pass mark



Delegates who pass the Practitioner exam are awarded the qualification of "Registered PRINCE2 Practitioner". The certificate is an internationally recognised qualification in PRINCE2.

Please, note that you will need to bring photo ID for the exam.

Pre-Reading

From 2 to 15 hours pre-course reading will be required.
