Overview

This five-day instructor-led course teaches IT Pros how to deploy and configure Active Directory Domain Services (AD DS) in a distributed environment, how to implement Group Policy, how to perform backup and restore, and how to monitor and troubleshoot Active Directory–related issues with Windows Server 2016. Additionally, this course teaches how to deploy other Active Directory server roles such as Active Directory Federation Services (AD FS) and Active Directory Certificate Services (AD CS).

Target Audience:

This course is primarily intended for existing IT professionals who have some AD DS knowledge and experience and who aim to develop knowledge about identity and access technologies in Windows Server 2016.

Pre-Requisites

  • Some exposure to and experience with AD DS concepts and technologies in Windows Server 2012 or Windows Server 2016.

  • Experience and an understanding of core networking technologies such as IP addressing, name resolution, and Dynamic
  • Host Configuration Protocol (DHCP).
  • Experience working with and an understanding of Microsoft Hyper-V and basic server virtualization concepts.

  • Hands-on working experience with Windows client operating systems such as Windows 7, Windows 8, Windows 8.1, or Windows 10.

How to find us

The centre is a 10-15 minute walk from Wokingham railway station.

Centre Access

The centre is open between 08:30 and 17:30 on working days. Upon arrival, please ring the buzzer at the front door. The reception staff will admit you to the training centre. The training rooms are located on the ground floor of the building. All floors are accessible via a lift or staircase. Disabled toilets are available on the ground floor.

Registration

Most courses begin at 09:30 on the first morning. Please register with reception on the first floor. To maintain building security and comply with health and safety legislation, delegates will be asked to sign in on a daily basis.

Refreshments

Lunch is provided at the training centre. There will be a selection to suit individuals’ needs. Refreshments are provided during breaks and consist of a selection of hot drinks and biscuits. If you have any allergies or special requirements, please get in touch with us in advance.

Wi-Fi available throughout the training centre and internet café computers are available in the delegate area on the first floor.
