Please be aware there are no badge-holder parking spaces on Infirmary Street. There are disabled parking bays located nearby at the West end of Chambers Street by the National Museum of Scotland.

Level entrance

One entrance at the front of the Dovecot building on the right has level access. The double doors are often shut and do not open automatically, so either knock on the glass for assistance or ring the top left buzzer on the metal panel to the right of this door.

Wheelchair access and seating

The building is fully wheelchair accessible, and the lift which has access to all floors can accommodate a powered electric wheelchair. There are folding chairs available in the Gallery and can be requested from staff at front desk.

There are disabled toilets on the ground, first and third floors by the Gallery, Ladies Baths event space and Tapestry Studio Viewing Balcony.

Dovecot is a 10 minute walk from Waverley Train Station, Princes Street, Edinburgh Castle and Holyrood Palace.

Lothian Bus routes 3, 3A, 5, 7, 8, 14, 29, 30, 31, 33, 37, 47, X47, 48, X48, 49.

Train

The closest train station is Edinburgh Waverley. From here it is a 10 minute walk or 5 minute taxi journey to Dovecot.

Bicycle

Edinburgh has a number of cycle lanes and paths. Dovecot has a bike rail at the front of the building.

Car

There is 2 hour on-street parking on Infirmary Street. The closest public car park is the NCP car park on Holyrood Road.
