2021 Leadership Skills for a Productive Healthy Workplace

Delivering results in line with team objectives is key to managerial success. The individuals in the team may include those working from home, those working in the workplace and those doing a mix of the two.

This presents new challenges not just for recently appointed managers, but also for those who have been in that position for some time. The way managers, communicate, motivate and lead their teams is critical to the success of those teams.

This one day course will deal with the practical realities of managing the needs of different people, such as those reluctant to return to the work place and those who are missing their connection with colleagues through being identified as permanent home-workers.

Effective managers are the emotional thermostat for their team, able to make people feel that they are an important part of the team regardless of their circumstances.

  • How to effectively manage the needs of different individuals in your team
  • To understand which individuals may prefer the workplace to home working and vice versa
  • To use this understanding to help plan the way forward
  • To be able to effectively communicate with all members of your team to understand their preferred ways of working
  • To use a range of motivation techniques to deliver results
  • Understand the strengths and weaknesses of a hybrid team and how to coach them in avoiding distractions and managing their time
  • Identify and explore ways in which your team can work together successfully in a mixed work/home environment and how this can lead to a more productive and healthy workforce
  • Put together an action plan to make a successful transition from the results you have gathered

9.30-9.45am   Introduction and welcome to the course and its objectives

9.45-10.45am  The importance of communication skills to establish understanding of individual members of the team          

10.45-11.00am Coffee Break

11.00-11.45 The role of the manager and how to involve everyone in a hybrid way of working. Team objectives

11.45-12.30  What are the strengths and weaknesses of a dispersed team and explore innovative methods to maintain consistency and ensure connectivity

12.30-1.30 Lunch

1.30-2.15 Identify a range of motivation methods to deliver team results 

2.15-3.15 Understand the principles of time management and how to manage the distractions of office and home-working and coach a way forward.

3.15-3.30 Coffee Break

3.30-4.15 Putting together an action plan to create a healthy and productive workplace for current times.
