GDPR eLearning

Overview

The new GDPR is a single, harmonised data privacy law for the European Union. It aims to reinforce the data protection rights of individuals and to prevent the loss of personal data by improving data security for all residents of EU member states – regardless of where their data is processed.

Organisations have until May 2018 to comply with the new law, or potentially face fines of up to 4% of annual turnover or €20 million – whichever is greater.

Under the GDPR, the appointment of a data protection officer (DPO) will be mandatory for controllers and processors in the public sector, and for those with big data processing activities. The DPO position will be a challenging role to fulfil, given the breadth of knowledge required to manage IT systems while understanding the legal aspects of the GDPR.

With less than fifteen months to overhaul their data protection and information security regimes, companies all over the world are crying out for GDPR experts to help them comply with the new law, and the demand for DPOs will only increase. This course will provide you with the knowledge you need to become a DPO.
