  • Lawful collection and processing of personal data
  • Special Categories of Personal Data and the rules for collection and processing
  • The rights of individuals in relation to their personal data (staff, customers, clients, prospects, etc), such as Subject Access Requests (SAR’s)
  • Controller and Processor obligations
  • The role of the Data Protection Officer (DPO)
  • Security of personal data and processing
  • An introduction to handling a data breach
  • The rules and guidance on transferring data within and outside the UK  (include the implications of Brexit)
  • New requirements under the GDPR such as Privacy Impact Assessments, changes to criteria for Consent and record keeping
  • An introduction to Marketing rules and guidance relating to personal data (including an introduction to PECR)
  • The role of the Information Commissioner
