Becoming a Certified Scrum Developer (CSD)
If you are interested in achieving the CSD certification there are several training tracks to choose from. In this article we look at the options available.
What is a Certified Scrum Developer?
The Certified Scrum Developer (CSD) certification is designed for developers and programmers that are building software in a Scrum environment. The certification enables you to demonstrate an understanding of Scrum principles andengineering as well as the tools and techniques required to produce good quality software in an iterative and incremental way.
Training options for achieving Certified Scrum Developer
To achieve the certification you are required to attend at least 5 days formal training. This training needs to be completed with a Scrum Alliance Registered Education Provider (REP) and a Scrum Alliance Authorized Instructor.
There are two training tracks for achieving the certification:
Certification Track: Certified ScrumMaster + Technical Course
This option requires you to complete 2 training courses in order to meet the 5 days of formal training required. The package combines the very popular Certified ScrumMaster certification which is a 2 day course and a 3 day technical course (which must include coding). We currently offer the Certified Scrum Developer (Technical Course) to meet this requirement.
If you wish to book both courses, please contact our Sales Team today to discuss your requirements.
Alternative: Intro, Technical & Elective
This option requires you to complete 3 separate Scrum Alliance accredited courses to make up the CSD certification and meet the 5 days training requirement. Similar to the above route, this pathway also features a technical course (with coding) alongside introductory and elective training. The pathway is made up of:
- Intro to Scrum CSD course (1 day)
- CSD technical course (must include coding) (3 days)
- CSD technical elective course (1 day)
If you are interested in taking courses within this certification route, please contact us to discuss your individual requirements.
