Chartered Project Professional (ChPP) Support Package (Route 3)

The Chartered Project Professional Standard is a professional benchmark that demonstrates attainment of a defined level of technical knowledge, professional practice and ethical behaviour and forms the basis of the assessment that applicants must pass to gain Chartered Project Professional (ChPP) status. Becoming a Chartered Project Professional has many advantages, including:

  • International recognition within the Project Management profession
  • Assurance for clients of high standards and ethical practice
  • A framework for the development of your career
  • Increased understanding, helping you work more efficiently

There are 3 available routes to take for ChPP:

Route 1 For those with recognised assessment:

  • Provide evidence of professional practice through 2-4 x 500 word project overview
  • 250 word summary for each of 12 mandatory & elective competencies
  • 1 hour interview
  • CPD log

Route 2 For those with a recognised assessment & professional practice:

  • Already a Registered Project Professional
  • 30 minute telephone interview
  • 12 month CPD log

Route 3 Experiential route for those without a recognised assessment but who do meet the eligibility criteria: 

  • Provide evidence of professional practice through 2-4 x 500 word project overviews
  • 250 word summary for each of the 12 mandatory & elective competencies
  • 2 hour interview
  • CPD Log

Pre-Requisites

You are professionally active with a proven track record of delivering complex projects.


You have advanced technical knowledge and can evaluate and analyse theory of current practices.


You meet the required competencies set out in the APM Application Guidance document and have a breadth of project experience.

Course Content

Route 3

  • Classroom kick-off workshop
  • 4-week checkpoint webinar
  • Regular email & skype engagement with assessor
  • 16-week checkpoint webinar
  • 20-week checkpoint webinar including interview prepartion

An assessor is available online throughout the whole programme to review and provide feedback on your application as you prepare it.

Please note, we are able to deliver the kick-off workshop through a webinar if you would prefer complete the programme solely online.

Exams & Certification

Examination fees are in addition and can be booked through ourselves or directly to the APM (currently priced at £1110 + VAT)
