PMI Certification
PMI certifications from the Project Management Institute are recognised worldwide.
The Project Management Institute (PMI) is US based and is the world’s largest association for the project management profession. It administers a hierarchy of certifications. Earning a professional credential through PMI means that one has:
• Demonstrated the appropriate education and/or professional experience;
• Passed a rigorous examination;
• Agreed to abide by a professional code of conduct;
• Committed to maintaining their active credential through meeting continuing certification requirements.
There are 3 principle PMI certifications which evidence a proven level of training, knowledge and experience in project management. They are available to members of the Institute and non-members alike. Exams are administered through Prometric
Certified Associate in Project Management (CAPM)
The CAPM credential can benefit a wide range of team members who want to increase their performance and skills on project teams by gaining knowledge of project management processes and terminology.
Project Management Professional (PMP)
A globally recognised designation that serves as the foundation from which you can competently practice as a project manager, leading and directing project tasks. PMPs are in tune with the latest trends in the project management profession, and they have demonstrated their commitment to the profession.
Program Management Professional (PgMP)
PMI’s new PgMP credential is specifically developed to enhance the qualifications of the professional who leads the coordinated management of multiple projects and ensures the ultimate success of a program.
In order to satisfy the Continuing Certification Requirements (CCR) Program and maintain an active credential status individuals who have attained the PMP and/or Program Management Professional must accrue and report a minimum of 60 professional development units (PDUs) during each CCR cycle, which is typically 3 years, complete an Application for Certification Renewal and payment of the renewal fee, and reaffirm the PMI Code of Ethics and Professional Conduct.
