P3O Training Courses

P3O brings together a set of principles, processes and techniques to enable effective portfolio, programme and project management

The purpose of P3O is to provide universally applicable guidance that will enable individuals and organisations to successfully establish, develop and maintain appropriate business support structures that will enable informed senior management decision and successful delivery of business outcomes and benefits

It also provides:

• An Introduction to P3O - Why, when and how to use P3O models
• The Value of P3O - Including a business case, funding models and performance measures.
• The P3O Model - An overview of the different P3O models with examples.
• P3O Functions and Techniques - Details on the functions/services and techniques/tools used

The Two P3O Qualifications are:-

P3O Foundation

• Covers the concepts and structures  (2 or 3 day course)
• Includes an objective test exam with 50 multiple choice questions to be answered in 40 minutes.
• It is a closed-book examination and has a pass mark of 60%.
• Aimed at anyone who works with or in a P3O environment.
  

P3O Practitioner

• Launched in January 2010.
• Includes an objective testing style paper. It consists of 7 questions with a total of 70 marks available to be completed within 2 1/4 hours. Candidates need to achieve a mark of 35 or more to pass the paper
• A pass at Foundation level is a pre-requisite for this exam
• Suitable for anyone responsible for setting up or managing a P3O function
• Both 4 and 5 day versions of the combined Foundation and Practitioner course are available
