CCNP - Cisco Certified Network Professional

Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP) validates the ability to plan, implement, verify and troubleshoot local and wide-area enterprise networks and work collaboratively with specialists on advanced security, voice, wireless and video solutions.

The CCNP certification is appropriate for those with at least one year of networking experience who are ready to advance their skills and work independently on complex network solutions. Those who achieve CCNP have demonstrated the skills required in enterprise roles such as network technician, support engineer, systems engineer or network engineer.

The CCNP certification structure was updated in 2010. The previous BSCI, BCMSN, ONT and ISCW courses were replaced by ROUTE, SWITCH and TSHOOT. There is a Cisco CCNP exam combination tool to show which additional exams are required, based on the exams you've already passed.

To acquire a CCNP one must possess a CCNA certification first and then pass three exams:
642-902 ROUTE
642-813 SWITCH
642-832 TSHOOT

Valid CCNA certification

ROUTE Implementing Cisco IP Routing [5 days]

AND

SWITCH Implementing Cisco Switched Networks [5 days]

AND

TSHOOT Troubleshooting & Maintaining Cisco IP Networks [5 days]
