PRINCE2

The PRINCE2 qualification is increasingly regarded as a prerequisite for professional project managers, signifying a knowledge of the most widely adopted project management methodology.  There are 2 levels:

Foundation
Introduces all the basic terminology and processes

Practitioner
Demands a practical understanding of how PRINCE2 is applied to projects

The qualification is administered and examinations set by the APM Group.  Most candidates choose to take the exams as an integral part of a 3 or 5 day course.

The emphasis of the PRINCE2 qualification is on a proven and scalable methodology for project execution.  It is complementary to other project management training such as APMP or MoR which place more emphasis on essential skill sets and specific aspects of project management.

In order to maintain the certification a re-registration exam must be taken 3 to 5 years after the initial exam.  This exam can be taken independently or as part of a short “re-registration” refresher course.
