Yorkshire & Humberside Enhancement Fund

60% Grants to a Maximum of £20,000

What is this?

The Enhancement Fund is a £50m resource to encourage employers in Yorkshire and Humberside to invest in skills development and therefore increase the skills base in the region.

Do I qualify?

The primary requirements are:

  • Your organisation pays business rates in the region
  • Your organisation has fewer than 5,000 employees
  • You have not already accessed your £20,000 maximum

  • What type of training is covered?

Most Focus courses can be funded through the scheme including PRINCE2 project management training and ITIL service management training.

[A 5 day on-site PRINCE2 course could work out at less than £300 per delegate]

You will not be able to use it for statutory training, or training supported by Train to Gain.

    How does it work?

  • Contact Focus to discuss your training requirement
  • We will work with a local skills broker to help you complete your application
  • If successful you confirm your booking with Focus and pay the full course fee
  • Upon completion of the training you will be able to claim back the 60% grant element

What else do I need to know?
  • Training must not start before approval
  • Allow at least a month from application to training
  • The scheme runs until March 2010
  • There is a fixed sum allocated to the scheme (which may run out)
  •
